Our work includes earthwork, underground utilities, concrete, landscape &amp; irrigation, and site development.This is an opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who likes being close to the business, understands the importance of accurate job costing, inter-company transactions and sales tax reporting and regular quarterly financial reporting, and is comfortable working with a team in a fast-moving construction environment.<h2 style="margin-bottom: 4pt; margin-top: 18pt;">What You'll Be Responsible For</h2><ul><li>Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial operations</li><li>Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and related accounting functions</li><li>Prepare timely monthly financial statements, reporting packages, and financial analysis</li><li>Manage month-end and year-end close processes</li><li>Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations and financial records</li><li>Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting</li><li>Monitor project financial performance and maintain accurate construction job costing</li><li>Provide leadership with meaningful financial information to support business decisions</li><li>Maintain and strengthen accounting procedures, internal controls, and reporting processes</li><li>Ensure accounting practices remain consistent with company policies and applicable standards</li><li>Coordinate with outside CPA firms, tax advisors, auditors, and other financial partners</li><li>Identify opportunities to improve accounting systems, processes, and efficiency</li><li>Lead, support, and develop members of the accounting team</li></ul> <h2 style="margin-bottom: 4pt; margin-top: 18pt;">What We're Looking For</h2><ul><li>5+ years of progressive accounting experience</li><li>Previous experience as a Financial Controller, Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, or similar accounting leadership role&nbsp;</li><li>Construction accounting experience is strongly preferred</li><li>Strong working knowledge of construction job costing and project financial reporting</li><li>Solid understanding of general ledger accounting, financial statements, reconciliations, and closing procedures</li><li>Experience working with accounting or ERP platforms such as Spectrum, ProContractor, Sage/Vista, QuickBooks, or similar systems</li><li>Advanced Microsoft Excel skills</li><li>Strong analytical ability with excellent attention to detail</li><li>Organized, dependable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities</li><li>Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with ownership, operations, and accounting teams</li><li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field</li><li>CPA designation is an asset but is not required</li></ul><h2 style="margin-bottom: 4pt; margin-top: 18pt;">Why Join Bauman?</h2><ul><li>Salary depending on experience</li><li>Comprehensive health insurance</li><li>Paid Time Off</li><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Join a stable, family-owned construction company with nearly 50 years of history</li><li>Work directly with company leadership and have a meaningful impact on the business</li><li>Long-term opportunity with room to grow as the company continues to develop</li><li>Supportive, collaborative working environment</li></ul><h2 style="margin-bottom: 4pt; margin-top: 18pt;">About Bauman Landscape and Construction</h2>Bauman Landscape and Construction has been delivering civil and site construction projects throughout Northern California since 1977.Over the decades, we've built our business around quality workmanship, strong relationships, and doing things the right way.
